Article 334
ELI5— what this means for you
Concubinage: a husband who keeps a mistress in the conjugal home, has sexual intercourse with her under scandalous circumstances, or cohabits with her elsewhere. The penalty for the husband is prision correccional; for the concubine, destierro.
Key point
The law treats adultery and concubinage differently — adultery requires proof of every single act; concubinage only requires proof of the relationship.
