Title IV — Property Relations Between Husband and Wife
Article 134
ELI5— what this means for you
Under Complete Separation of Property, each spouse owns, manages, and enjoys their own property independently. There is no shared pool of assets. Each spouse is also solely responsible for their own debts. This regime must be agreed upon in a valid marriage settlement before the wedding.
Key point
Complete separation: your property is yours alone; spouse's property is theirs alone. Zero commingling.
